Nushino Bikerafting in the Waorani Amazon

Nushino Bikerafting in the Waorani Amazon

per person

Bikerafting allows you to cover a certain distance on a bicycle, on land, until you encounter a body of water where you can no longer ride, then you inflate a packraft and the adventure continues by river, on water. The idea for this exploration is to gather a group of pioneers who enjoy biking and rafting to survey potential uses of a jungle route in the Ecuadorian Amazon. The main terrain will be mountainous, riding through jungle, where the bike will mainly cover gravel and mud roads until reaching the end of a path where it’s possible to reach the river. Once the bikes and cargo have been secured to the rafts, we paddle down the Nushino River. We will cover two sections on land of approximately 30 miles each, and an additional 30 miles will be navigated on relatively calm waters with no rapids. The only obstacles that we might encounter will be floating logs in the water. This activity takes place in Waorani territory. Your participation contributes tofinance the exploration.
